Witten and Cowboys Wives Group Host Annual Christmas Party For The Family Place

Jason Witten's SCORE Foundation and the Cowboys Wives Bible Study Group co-hosted their annual Christmas Party for the women and children staying at The Family Place shelter last Friday.

The party, which was held at Speed Zone, a family entertainment complex in Dallas, featured a visit from Santa Claus and gave kids who have recently escaped abusive homes the opportunity to meet and play games with Cowboys players like Witten, Keith Brooking, Leonard Davis, Nick Folk, Sam Hurd and Cory Proctor, as well as Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips.

The children received gifts from their wish lists, including 30 bicycles donated by Academy Sports & Outdoors. The women received gift bags and gift certificates from Albertson's, as well as gift certificates from JCPenney.

The Family Place is the largest battered women's shelter in Texas, and has been part of this annual event for the last five years.

"This is a great night for us and for these women and children," said Witten. "This event is always a lot of fun, and gives these moms and their kids who have been through so much a chance to relax and have fun. The women's bible study group does a great job in putting this on, and it would not be possible without these great sponsors."
